Giorgetti outdoor furniture, Moorea and Gea side by side

Giorgetti outdoor furniture comes from the same workshop in Meda, Italy, that builds the company's walnut sideboards and leather armchairs. The garden range is small. Two families carry most of it, and Giorgetti built them to face the weather in two ways: Moorea with stainless steel and teak, Gea with aluminum and stone. Pick the one that suits your climate first, then your taste.

Two frames, two climates

Moorea is the newer family. Carlo Colombo drew it in 2025, and Giorgetti builds the whole frame from 316L stainless steel with a pewter paint finish. The maker picked that grade for its resistance to corrosion, and it makes the screws and fasteners between the parts from stainless steel as well. That detail matters on a coast, where a cheap bolt rusts long before the frame does.

Gea dates from 2017 and belongs to Chi Wing Lo. Its frame is aluminum, powder painted in a warm carob brown. Aluminum weighs less than steel, so you can move a Gea chair across the deck with one hand. The finish on both families is paint over metal, so treat a deep scratch the way you would on a car: touch it up before water gets under the edge.

Wood and stone on the table

Both families bring natural material to the top of the table, and here the families part.

Moorea tables carry slabs of lava stone from Etna. Giorgetti heats the stone to push its color toward a warm gray, and it sprinkles a selection of slabs with colored glass powder that melts into the pores. You can order that glass in pearl, teal or emerald. The legs are solid teak, left in a natural finish, and the frame has drain holes cut into it so rain runs off.

Gea tables let you design the top yourself. The aluminum frame holds a row of slats, and you choose each slat from stone oak, afrormosia or Etna lava. A long dining table can alternate wood and stone, or stay in one material. The same slats appear as an option on the side of the Gea sofa, where they act as a small shelf for a glass.

Seats that dry

Outdoor cushions fail when water sits in the foam. The two families handle that in different ways.

Moorea uses open cell draining rubber in the seat and back. Water and humidity pass through it, which cuts the drying time after a storm, and the chair seat has drain holes under the padding so air reaches it. Gea uses polyurethane foam made for outdoor use inside a waterproof cover, with piping in a waterproof technical fabric.

In both, the outer fabric comes from Giorgetti's Open-air range and zips off for washing. Giorgetti still advises a cover for Moorea when rain is coming, and you should follow that advice for both families. A cover costs far less than a set of new cushions.

The pieces in each family

Giorgetti Moorea has four pieces we quote: a modular sofa, a table in square and rectangular shapes, a chair whose teak backrest runs into the armrests, and a sun lounger. The lounger has two wheels at the head end and a backrest you set in four positions by pulling a fabric loop. Under its mattress sit slats of polypropylene reinforced with fiberglass. Giorgetti Gea runs wider. You get a three seat sofa, dining tables from a 110 cm square to a 240 cm rectangle, low side tables, two sled base chairs, a rocking low lounge chair, a reclining sun lounger on castors and an LED floor lamp. Match the family to the site

A few questions settle the choice fast.

• Salt air and wind off the water point to Moorea. Giorgetti picked the steel grade and the stainless fasteners to resist corrosion.
• A roof terrace where you rearrange furniture often points to Gea, since aluminum is light.
• If you want to design the table top, Gea lets you set the slats. Moorea gives you lava with a choice of glass color.

Care through the year

Rinse salt off the frames once or twice a month in summer if you live near the sea. Wash the Open-air covers as the care label says and let them dry on the frame. Teak left in its natural finish turns silver in the sun; oil it if you want to keep the honey color. Lava stone needs a wipe with a damp cloth. In a region with hard frost, store the cushions indoors for the winter and cover the frames.
