What Giorgetti says about itself

The company was founded in 1898 in Meda, Brianza, as an artisan woodworking laboratory. It describes able and patient hands shaping wood at their work stations, and the smell of the raw material in the air, as the atmosphere of its factories today. The move from bench work to a catalogue signed by outside designers came at the end of the eighties.

Wood arrives selected by quality and provenance and goes into drying machines before it is worked, so it holds its shape over time. Maple, ebony, beech, walnut and pau ferro are the woods the company names. Machinery shapes them and artisans finish them, and the results get combined with stone, glass, leather and metal.

Giorgetti was already sending semi-finished pieces to the United States in the twenties and has exported finished collections since the sixties. Design and production are both Italian, which is what lets the company use the words made and manufactured in Italy. Monobrand stores stand in Boston and Houston, among sixteen cities worldwide, and since 2018 the contract arm has included Battaglia, a firm that fits out hotels, fashion retail and yachts.
